My old iPad, an [[iPad Pro 2018]], was getting on a bit. I’d been using it for seven years, and while it still technically worked fine, it was showing signs of age. It was time to upgrade.
I was very tempted by the newer M5 iPad Pro 11”, but I wasn’t really using my current one, and I wasn’t sure a newer model the same would change that.
I ended up going for the Mini, even though rumours at the time suggested a new model could be coming relatively soon. The ‘worst’ part of the Mini 7 is the screen, and having a look at them at the Apple Store soon told me it was still very good.
I’d had an iPad Mini before, and I’d forgotten how much I love this form factor. So smol to carry, but big enough to be useful for all sorts of things. I’m writing this on it now, with a Bluetooth keyboard, and the iPad on an arm, held in the perfect position, keyboard on my lap. On a desk, the ‘folio’ cover can hold it at a couple of different angles.
But to go, the Mini can fit in a pocket in my trousers, or in my coat. iPad and keyboard can go together in a slim compartment in my 6l sling bag.
