Some notes on cameras I have, or have used, or just have opinions on. Opinions, of course, vary. If you're looking for advice on what *you* should buy, have a look at [[What Camera Should I Buy?]] ## [[Fujifilm X100VI]] Quite new to me, I got the X100VI very recently. I don't plan to replace the Sony with it, there are still things the Sony can do that the Fuji can't, especially with its fixed lens. But it's a really nice fun camera to use, and produces really nice images without any editing. The size and weight makes it easier to keep handy compared to the A7iii, and it's very tactile, which makes me want to pick it up and use it more. Sometimes I still carry it around without taking photos, but it feels so nice to just have it there. I call it my emotional support camera when I'm doing that. ## [[Sony A7iii]] My current camera, and it's great. Not sure it's the most suited camera to what I mainly do now, but it's way more camera than I need, and versatile enough to do almost anything you could want. With a small lens, it's reasonably compact and light, but definitely not *tiny*. Pocketable only for *very* large pockets. ## Sony A7 My previous camera, and it was pretty good, though a bit outdated now. Still decent if your needs aren't *too* advanced, though, and should be available used for low prices now. Full frame, which made better use of the vintage lenses I was using a lot at the time. ## Sony NEX-6 A bit outdated now, but I took a *lot* of photos with this camera (about 37,000). Only a good choice now if you're on a tight budget, but it could still do well, and it's pretty compact for what it can do. Because so many old lenses can be attached with an adapter, it's what started me off with experimenting with different old lenses. ## Nikon D90 We sold a house, and I bought a D90, lenses and flashes. Rarely used the flashes. The D90 was good at the time. I'd hate to go back to a DSLR now. Even at the time, it was a big and heavy camera, and eventually I realised I was carrying it around, but I'd gone a month without taking any photos. So I decided to switch to something smaller and lighter. ## Nikon D40 My first DSLR. 6 megapixels, which, tbh, can be surprisingly usable. At the time it was good. Now it would seem so clunky. ## Fujifilm mx-1200 I keep thinking my X100VI is my first Fuji, but my first digital camera was this very early Fuji. It was back in 1999, and had one entire megapixel. Well, 1.3, really. But photography without the expense of using up film really changed the game. I could experiment, try things out, and nothing was wasted if it didn't work. Before this, I was used to having to think about each shot, because pressing the shutter cost actual money every time. ## Canon AV-1 Going back a long time for this, but it was my first real camera. An old film SLR, aperture priority only. I had a Canon 70-210 f/4 lens, with a 2x converter. Mostly for bird photography. ## Others
